The News
I think spring might actually make it to Maine this year. Huffing,
late, and - I would hope - slightly embarrassed, spring is making
good with daffodils, tulips and budding trees. PHEW!!  I really
wasn't sure it would happen this year. Along with Nature's
impending colorfest comes a stepped-up training program.
Here's a little of what we're doing here.

Segovia and I are getting ready for show season. Tempi
changes are easier, pirouettes are coming, canter half-pass is
sticky (gotta keep working on that) must be PSG! The worst part
of my day is getting off this horse. If he's not getting attention,
he's just not happy, so we're on 6 days a week and he better be
the first horse I ride or he'll start dismantling his stall.

Fynn's owner Molly has left us (the nerve!!!) for big adventures
in South Africa. Molly's horse Fynn is now being ridden by Kim -
a sophomore at UNH. This pair is working out really well.
Welcome Kim!

fter nearly losing Bastion last fall to a ruptured colon, MB is
back in the tack and resuming her role as physical therapist for
this 22 year old miracle
.

Danny is for Sale: This 12 year old, 16h TB cross is an
interesting mix of Irish TB, Clydesdale and Irish draft. He would
be a wonderful training partner for someone looking to move up
a few levels. He is confirmed in shoulder-in, haunches in,
renvers, and half-pass in all 3 gaits. He also shows talent over
fences. We're currently working on the changes, so I wouldn't
say they're confirmed, but they're in there. Danny is striking to
look at (see pics), trail-rides on the buckle, and is thoroughly
uncomplicated to ride. $1

nd Sidney are getting ready for 1st level. Sidney
put on so much muscle this year he needs a new saddle!! Some
of his work is 2nd level, so we'll see what the fall brings.

Seagail Friesians' Pelagus came to me in mid-March for
training (see pics). What an athlete he is! We're developing a
good bond and moving along with his training under saddle. Still
working on developing his confidence along with his manners
and general comprehension of his new life as a working man.

Happy Half-Halts everyone!
